There are no folders in Gmail and you don't transfer messages.

You can create a label, and then label the message with this new
label, but they will remain in the old label as well. Remember, there
is only _1_ copy of any message, but it can be in different labels. If
you delete it from one label, you delete it from ALL the labels.
