This sounds like you are viewing the local cache. Have you been able to
send email when the system is supposedly off line?

At a command prompt, enter these commands:

nslookup microsoft.com
ping microsoft.com

You could also use yahoo.com in place of microsoft.com if you would
rather.

See what the results are, and post them here. Obviously, you are to run
those commands once the system is supposedly down.
