Re: google hasn't even sniffed at my site :~ (
Hi Heather
Are you sure Google hasn't come? (ie from the log files) or is the site
just not in the index? Google and the other search engines are actually
pretty good in even indexing flash files, so that shouldn't be an issue
(though a html-version of the same site would always make good sense!
Usability and accessability are very important and with a pure
flash-site you will run into many issues -- usability + accessability
for users will automatically go a long way for accessability for bots).
Looking at your website, I have the distinct feeling that you might be
better off with concentrated, professional help for the issues we've
uncovered. While I know there are some real pros here, it would
probably serve you better if you hired a SEO-savy web-consultant (or
just a SEO consultant) to make sure you do not miss any possibly
pitfalls. http://www.seomoz.org/articles/recommended.php has a good
listing of consultants and I've heard many good things from Sebastian
(also active in the forums here): http://www.smart-it-consulting.com/
I don't want to push you out, but if you are looking to cement a
professional image with your clients, you might want to avoid the
do-it-yourself look (because it looks like the rest of the work your
company does really is top-notch). If you prefer to go at it yourself,
then by all means, please stay :-).
If you want to get a professional, curtious and complete review of your
website, you might also want to submit it for a site review at
http://cre8asiteforums.com/forums/ in their "website hospiltal".
Cheers
John
