Re: Google not indexing sites, Google site caches always much outdated
redrenga - I'm not convinced that it is a mistake :-) -- but if you
clean it up it doesn't matter (it doesn't matter to me anyway, I just
like to find these things).
I find it strange that it used to 302 to stile.it, the domain that you
have trouble with now. A 302-redirect will do that to you. You can spot
the old 302 by taking a look at Alexa for your site:
http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?q=&url=stile.it --
see how it refers to search.it? It's a sure sign that you 302'ed
from/to there.
With things like that you don't have to complain that Google is not
indexing your site -- these things are not done automatically or on
accident, they are done with the distinct purpose to try to grab some
"value" from the old, existing domain and move/copy it to the new
domain. The only problem is that it doesn't work, other than perhaps a
displayed toolbar PR value. 301 redirects would be something else, but
that could harm your existing site (which I'm sure you don't want to
do).
You're a professional, you run professional sites; in your situation I
would not act like it is something completely unknown to you ;-).
Cheers
John
