I recommend that anyone thinking of taking this any further should take
a careful look at the copyright conditions and terms of use of the
census data. Jonathan Stott says that the Royal Mail do tend to pursue
people who violate their copyright on the postcode geography.

I'm not a lawyer. Using the geographical information from the postcode
information in the census data in your own application looks like a bit
of a grey area. Publishing the decoded geographical postcode data looks
like a very clear violation of the copyright.
