Try the google sitemaps group for specfic help on generating sitemaps.
But frankly, the sitemap is not going to make ANY difference in where
you appear in Google listings, it only saves googlebot some time
looking around, it has nothing to do with your ranking in the SERPs.
That is a matter of your site and how it conforms to a few zillion
Google relevancy parameters. Try searching in Google for "SEO" and
follow a few of those links to major discussion areas to get up to
speed on "Search Engine Optimization" for google etc.
