IE 5.5 Compatability

Well, it seems that google has dropped IE 5.5 from it's compatability
list. My question is how does maps.google.com handle IE 5.5. They say

that the browser is not supported, but a static image of the location
still shows up on your page when you enter an address. Does anyone
have the code available to do that?
