[lug] Kubuntu Wireless Problems

ok, I'm a newbie at linux. I just installed Kubuntu (breezy),
everything is working fine... besides my wireless card. When i go into
network settings, it says my wireless is disabled.

It says I can change it if i log in as root.. I tried to create a root
password, seem to go over well.. but it would not accept that password,
when i type in my password... it acts like it accepted it, but i am
still not able to enable wireless.

I am on my Lan right now through konqueror, so i know the internet will
work.

if i goto Wireless lan manager it will show Interface eth1
it lists the access point, which is accurate. says the strengh is good,
but says that the local ip is unavailable.

I am running a Dell D610, Dual booting with Windows xp and my wireless
card is an
:Intel Dell PRO Wireless 2915 802.11a/b/g miniPCI Card

I am fresh at linux, if you could please help me, this is my only
problem, thank you
