Carolin,
I don't think that's such a good idea, as your laptop and your desktop are bound to have different hardware configurations. As any OS installs itself according to the available hardware, it will not work equally well on both machines.

Having said that, I must admit that I'm by no means an expert on Linux, so am open to suggestions for the same.
