[lug] Re: Install ubuntu linux on IBM TP-380D

Stupid question: Were you able to go into the BIOS or CMOS and change
the boot order? I have yet to find a laptop whose boot order couldn't
be changed. Granted, though, I've never tried on a ThinkPad. I have
noticed that with some computers (like Dells), the BIOS / CMOS boot
order is "hiding" and is harder to find than a plain vanilla white
box.

How old is the laptop? Have you attempted to grab drivers from the
IBM website for your specific model?

Does the laptop read any CDs at all?

You've probably tried all these suggestions, but I just thought I'd
make sure and ask.
