Re: Playing Google Videos Here GOT messed up = Question?

OK, we'll do it one step at a time.

1. When you're on a computer, you probably use Internet Explorer to get
to the Internet. But that's not the only way. It's not even the best
one. One alternative is Firefox which you can download free (without
any ads or something, it's really totally free) from
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ . Just click the "Download Firefox"
button, and when Internet Explorer asks you what to do with this file,
just press "Open". After the download has finished, the installation
program starts. Just click Next over and over, because the default
settings are fine for 95% of all users.

2. Firefox can be extended with little helper programs that do stuff
like removing ads or adding translation to pages or basically whatever
the developer of such an extension can come up with. One such an
extension is Greasemonkey... Greasemonkey adds an easier way for
developers to change stuff on certain pages. To install it, just go to
http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/ and click on "Install Greasemonkey.".
When you do that, a bar will appear at the top of the page telling you
that the page wants to install something. Click on "Edit options" and
then "Allow" to add the Greasemonkey page to the list of sites that are
allowed to install software. Then click "Install Greasemonkey." again.
This time a message will pop up that informs you that Greasemonkey is
not signed. There will be no "OK" button at first, because there's a
delay until it appears to keep people from installing software without
thinking about it. Finally "Install Now" appears. Click it. The
Extension window will open and after a few seconds Greasemonkey is
installed. You then have to close all Firefox windows (including
Downloads, Extensions...), because Extensions are always installed at
the next restart (of Firefox, not Windows). So open Firefox again and
go to http://userscripts.org/scripts/source/1858.user.js . This is my
script... At the top-right there's now an "install button". Click it.
After the confirmation, we're finally ready.

3. Go to http://video.google.com and search for your video. On the
results page, click the "Play" button that sits ontop of your video.
This will now take you to the video directly. You can now just
copy/paste the address that's given at the address bar and use it
wherever you want to offer a direct link to the video, or you can
include it in your page, if your Weblog/homepage/whatever provider
allows you to embed Flash (swf files)
