when you say you use local host, did you register a google maps api key to the domain "localhost"?

if not, what did you register the key under?

At first I thought you had to. The point is that it is very easy to get
a key for your computer, you do not need to redirect from anywhere.

Just keep things simple. If you are redirecting from somewhere, that is
just more things that can cause hassles, with slow internet, server
disruption.

It is, for me, several times, at least, to load local files served with
localhost, Apache or IIS, than getting anything from the internet.
