[Gmail-Users] Re: Hey There!
Gmail's storage isnt a marketing ploy. So many people seem to think that. Google's entire philosophy is to archive the world, and Gmail is designed to archive the world of email. Remember your gmail address is supposed to be your mermanent email storage for the rest of your life (thats what they hope at least). They want you to never delete messages ever again. So they will keep the storage space plentiful; they will make the storage limit whatever it needs to be for the given market or whatever. I'm sure it can hit 3000 MB. Hell, they may just randomly double it like they did from 1GB to 2 GB. It all depends. What if the internet and email develop into something different in the near future, which causes the average email message to be much larger than they are today; causing space to be eaten up more quickly. Its a stupid example, but just trying to put it out there.

The purpose? No-one really NEEDS email either, but yet we all seem to
use it quite a bit.
Son, you and I gotta talk..after all these years, can you have your
life WITHOUT e-mail?
I cannot agree with any statement that permanently caps the amount of
anything forever. They never thought the cost of things would increase
above a given rate, but it did eventually do it.
Its a marketing ploy Fuzzy.. It doesnt really from a profit-maintenence
perspective, make sense to have "infininite mail"...concur?
Ya gotta draw the line somewhere....I figure google will cap it at 3
gig..then offer some of the extended services for sale. But keep the
original gmail as a free service.
As I write this...speaking of profit at 7:16 AM PST Tuesday, Google
stock is at $468 a share...
theres your 3 gig of storage....<G>
