there is an updated version of the calendar plugin in the plugin
listing page ( http://desktop.google.com/plugins/i/calendar.html )
which has the 'add note' functionality. The SDK does not contain that
yet..
yes you can have items with heading and description, that is the
typical way items are displayed if the item layout is set to
'gddContentItemLayoutNews'
