Canon does not support linux, and as far as I can tell, they never
will. I don't program, so I cannot make my own driver. We like our
printer, and I don't print that often, so it's not that big of a hassle
for me.

Let me ask you, what field did you put in the "URL" to the printer
share? I tried putting it in the host name under the SMB/Windows server.
