whilst xmaps polygons are not clickable, there are ways and means
around this.
plot a marker at the centre of the polygon and use that to "select" the
polygon.

I use xmaps polys to depict regions in my mod.

See here for an example - hover the mouse over some of the US states
and see the region covered show up as a polygonal mouseover.

This all scales with the map as you are drawing by lat / lng not by x /
