Really, this is great great news about the API, and the getTilesUrl
looks to me specifically designed with hackers, who already have custom
map types, in mind. A very nice hat tip to us. The map team should be
a little more vocal that they are doing these things and take some
credit for themselves, it would stem some of the "disgruntlement" about
communication.
