One thing you have to watch out for is dating dynamic links. If you
date them with your "now" (or with the wrong time zone), and Google
finds them before its "now" on his side of the world, it will also
trigger the invalid date error. One way that you can avoid that is by
using "yesterday" instead of "now" for dynamic pages (eg if you see
that it's dated with "today", automatically use "yesterday" instead).

Also keep in mind -- at least according to my tests -- that Google
currently does not use the last-modified date, so perhaps you might
just want to keep it out of your sitemap file, at least until you have
the issue resolved. However, someone else has mentioned that the
last-modified-date worked for them, so ymmv.
