We have just finished a paid-for popunder exercise. We ordered 50,000
popunder hits. It was quite a good feeling getting over 2000 ads
showing per day on occassion but it also affected the percentage of
bookmarks on MBee (as it would). Before and indeed after the exercise
people bookmarking MBee is normally between 20 and 40% month on month
(we have been trading since April 05) that plumeted to about 1% or so
during the pop under exercise. We may go for it again later in the year
since the cost is very low; but we also started to suffer from Hacking
(not from those seeing the popunders since that was UK only) attempts
and although our provider (bluehost) denied access I felt sure I was
missing some of the attempts and therefore not able to report the
offending ip address. So far China is in the lead. Once things settle
down we will probably order another 50000 popunders.
