We crashed it.  Without paying for it.  It ran Windows ME.  We - of
couse - hacked it and got all the internet access we wanted for free.
How much did we use it?  None.  It was the hacking part that was fun.
Actually, there was no hacking required.  During the startup, they had
registered a script to run.  Whack ctrl-alt-delete during this script
and guess what?  The whole system is YOURS!

 

Yeah, not the most geek kudos from hacking that, but it's a great story... I think the easiest way is to bring a bootable dos floppy, and then edit the registry to run the Dos prompt as a screensaver , and set the time-out to 1minute so you get the prompt without logging on. Gosh, I love 'root' by default on MS :>
