[lug] Re: newbie site
I don't use Emacs ... and it turned into my refusal to comment. I have only been exploring linux for 6 mo's or so, and haven't gotten to emacs yet. I have seen some cool things done w/ it, and would like to know more. In the meantime, I tend to use the plain vanilla gedit or kedit, depending.
Role-playing: hate to get religious on you, but D&D is just plain creepy. But I'm a 32 yo farmwife and mother, so take it all w/ a grain of salt.
Dh is 22 years my senior. He is the Head Geek around here. Figured out how to network PCs in 1984, or something like that. He's hardware; I do the web / db stuff. We're quite a team, lol.
I read this LInux Admin handbook everynight before going to sleep, and I will tell him, hey, Linux does xyz! And his response is usually that DOS or Novell was similar. He is still lamenting the death (or near-death) of Novell.
Happy New Year, everyone! Looking forward to reading more geek code soon for all of you who are reading this after the festivities.
