And, unlike Apple, they give creators full controll over priceing and
host it for free.

I dont see how they can "step up" from apple, when they already leaped
over it.

The only thing apple is winning at (at the mo), is quality codec
(quicktime) and their advantage
with owning the IPod/IPod video.
