[lug] Re: Kubuntu Wireless

First off, you can use the Control Center to make sure the interface
does not start at boot. Of course, I come from Mandriva, but I am sure
there is something similar in Kubuntu.

Second, the NetApplet (under KMenu>System>Monitoring) can shut
down/bring up the interface...
...or as root, run "ifdown ra0" (or whatever your wireless card is).
And "ifup ra0" will bring it back up. This is what NetApplet actually
does... so you could script it, and make two shortcuts on your desktop.
