Hi,
you are right, but such aerial photographs can't be integrated into
Google Earth or Google Sat applications.
Google Earth and Google Maps are really great interfaces to our Earth,
making public access to some local databases possible.
So, for personal use, www use, aerial photographs are ok, but for
public use Google Earth and Google maps are the only known solutions
globe-wide.
